                          Chapter 1:    No consequences

It was the August 4th of 2011, just turned thirteen three days ago Rebecca Rowan paced around the courtyard of Radcliff's Boarding Academy, her best friend, the odd, not- intelligent, but likeable Katrina Ivywood.
"And then My Uncle Timothy said the shark jumped out of the sea, and onto the peer. It was able to breath and talk. What a bloody brilliant shark Uncle Timothy had said. Then it ate my Aunt Edith's salad", Katrina said, Katrina was telling the infamous tale her Uncle Timothy and Aunt Edith had told her.
"Katrina, I really don't think that could happen", Rebecca commented.
"Are you suggesting, Rebecca that Uncle Timothy and Aunt Edith told me a falsehood," Katrina demanded, because Katrina wasn't the most logical person.
"Yeah, and besides I'm pretty sure that they only told you that, because they knew you'd buy it", Rebecca explained.
Katrina frowned, "What's that suppose to mean, Rebecca Rowan"?
Rebecca sighed, "Nothing, Katrina Ivywood, nothing at all Katrina."

Then a boy with dark brownish red hair walked towards, them his name was Peter Russet, a friend of Rebecca's and Katrina's, whom got along with Katrina very well. "Hi, Katrina, Rebecca", he muttered.
"Hi, Peter. Do you want to hear about the story my Aunt and Uncle told me? Though, Rebecca thinks it's a lie", Katrina asked cheerfully.
"Oh, the one about the shark?" asked Peter.
"Yeah!" chanted Katrina.
"I'm surrounded by mental people," Rebecca muttered, flipping her black hair that went down to the top of her shoulder and rolling her baby-blue eyes. Katrina patted her curly dirty blonde hair, with one streak of each of the colors; blue, purple, green and pink in it.
"Let's go to Headmaster Brown's study, Peter and look at his pet tuna in their big glass 'living space thing' on the wall", Katrina said.
"Um, Katrina there called aquariums", corrected Rebecca.
"Okay," Peter muttered slowly
"What? Why on earth would you two, do that? You two could get by one of Headmaster Brown's assistants! It's extremely against the rules of Radcliff's, to trespass in the Headmaster's study; you know you can only enter it if you were given permission. I heard twenty years ago in 1991, after Radcliff's started ten years before in 1981, this little boy who was a pupil sneaked into Headmaster Brown's study, he broke his picture of him and my Aunt Ciara who happens to be Headmaster Brown's wife, and he got mud that rubbed off from his shoes onto Headmaster Brown's huge dark green velvet rug. Brown had to order another, it was 300 hundred dollars, Brown then expelled the boy", Rebecca explained a huge paragraph. Rebecca always looked at what could go wrong, and tended to over think things.
"According to some people I've talked to that's just a fable the perfects tell the other pupils so they won't enter Headmaster Brown's study without permission. Supposedly, he yells at the perfects, head boys, and head girls when he's mad", said Peter passing on information a group of popular gossipers boys and girls had told him, and well almost everybody else.
"Yeah, I heard about the too. So, let's not worry. You just like to be paranoid, Rebecca! Huh, we'll see you later, me and Peter are off to look at Brown's tuna", Katrina said.
Katrina and Peter soon bounced off to the study of Headmaster Brown, Rebecca believed in the story about the kid who had ruined the rug. She hoped they wouldn't ruin any of Headmaster Brown's velvet rugs, high-tech computer, oak desk, old-wall paper on the walls of the study, silk curtains, trophies, awards, his golden nameplate, pictures of

him and his wife Ciara, or any other valuables Headmaster Brown might be keeping in his study. Aunt Ciara had always been odd; she had only seen Ciara once or two times. She knew Aunt Ciara and her dad had always had an endless quarrel. Her mum didn't like Ciara either. Her sister Holly who was older then her by a year didn't know anything, nor did her little brother Elliot who younger by four years. Why did her parents only send her to boarding school, while Elliot and Holly had been sent to 'non-boarding schools' and just simply came home every day after school time.  Rebecca only saw her family on spring, summer, winter, and fall break. Between all that, she only saw them around 90 days a year, most of the days summer break. Pupils could go home on weekends, but her parents hardly ever let her, almost if they were afraid of something. There were still 15 minutes of break, left before the next classes begin. Rebecca decided to set on a bench by the entrance to the corridor of the academy. Rebecca wasn't exactly the happiest at Radcliff's, there were good things about the school; no uniform, good academics, good food served, 25 minute breaks a day 3 of them, etc. Rebecca was glad there was only the small rest of break, and two more classes until lunch for the whole school, each grade had their own cafeteria, and today it was cheese pizza. Rebecca's satisfied grin disappeared when she saw Charles Wilson approach. Charles had bright blue eyes, and dark black hair, and pale-ish skin.
"Rebecca", Charles greeted rather calmly
"Hello, Charles. What do you want"? Rebecca demanded, get straight down to business, something her mum and dad had told her was like Aunt Ciara, to get straight down to business.
"Um, can I see your mathematics notes"? Charles asked oddly.
"Why"? Rebecca asked, wanting to know why.
"I need to see them, not that I don't have mine, I just do need to see them", Charles said even odder then before.
"Can you please explain? Because I'm getting somewhat irritated", Rebecca snapped with a little rage even.
"I just can't do it. I'll tell you. Heather Clear told me if I got your mathematic notes, she give me 20 dollars, Heather told me that she was going to put them in a paper-shredder," Charles explained earnestly.

Rebecca knew Heather Clear. Heather was uptight, prissy, and bossy. Heather had only gotten popular from hanging around with her friends who where boys and girls that were somewhat popular. Heather came from a wealthy, prim and proper family the Clears. Her dad Mr. Clear was a President and head-doctor at Pinewood Hospital, which just so happened to be the Hospital Rebecca was born in. Heather's mum Mrs. Clear was a stay- at home mum, she didn't work because of the wealth and some other unknown reasons. Heather and Rebecca became mortal enemies the minute they had met, when they where only in Radcliff's preschool year.
"What! Why, that ninny! Heather Clear thinks she's all this and that," Rebecca muttered angrily.
Rebecca began to rush over to where she saw Heather and her friends. Charles then spoke.
"Can I come with when you confront Heather"? Charles asked.
"I suppose", Rebecca said in neutral voice.
Rebecca and Charles had made their way over to Heather and her friends. 10 minutes of break reminded. Heather glanced at both of them disdainfully. Heather had curled, dark chestnut brown hair, large owl-like green eyes, Heather wore old-fashioned blouses and shawls, long skirts, and ancient tunic dresses and the old hats with the feathers and flower on them , which no else wore. Heather didn't wear trousers, the Clears may be wealthy, but they didn't want their daughter to wear trousers. While all their other girls where in jeans, Heather stood there in a full-length tan skirt. Heather stood between her friend Stephanie Evans whom the boys where dead-gone on, and Rodger Rock, Heather's crush and friend, other people who Heather was friends; Tiffany Anderson, Penelope Portlyn, and Magnum Millington were there.

"What do you want, Rebecca Rowan"? Heather Clear demanded rather rudely
"How dare get Charles Wilson to try to get my notes. I might fail if your badly-thought of plan had worked, but to bad for you, Heather it failed," Rebecca spat; she was always cold and cruel around the mean Heather and co.
"Because you a just a spiteful ninny, Rebecca. I see Charles is there by you. Charles isn't getting his 20 now. Are you and Charles love birds"? Heather sneered.
"No, we aren't", Rebecca said.
"Of course, not, Rebecca, because no boy will every love you. You'll die alone, no husband or kids.  I'll dance on your old maid grave," spat Stephanie Evans.
"Watch it, Evans!" Rebecca shouted.

"Oh, we're all so scarred of you two", Rodger Rock said.
"Oh, just shut up Rodger! You just a jerk, Rebecca's better then all of you, yeah I said it", said Charles in a brave voice.
"Where are your mental best friend Katrina, and her friend Peter? Huh? Are there at a mental person meeting"? Heather snarled in a rude, monotone voice.
"Katrina isn't mental. Besides, there both busy right now", Rebecca explained in a nasty tone.
"Busy enough not to be a friend, to poor you, Rebecca"? Tiffany teased.
"There my friends of course, Tiffany Anderson, and besides your only friends with Heather because, the Clears' are wealthy, "Rebecca spat actually making an effect on Tiffany.
"And, I'm not done. You're all only friend with Heather for the same reason Tiffany is", Rebecca added.
There was a pause. Everybody knew it, even Heather. Heather hated Rebecca because on the first day they met, Rebecca had accidently spilled juice all over Heather. Heather had a nasty response, so Rebecca argued back, and the quarrel just got worse, it was hard to think that the whole infamous fight between Rebecca Rowan and Heather Clear had began just by a spilled juice cup, and Heather over reacting, something Mr. and Mrs. Clear had told their daughter to always make a big deal, only because the Clears were wealthy.
Magnum Millington gave a glare, Charles and Rebecca gave one back at him. Magnum just gave a snort and shrugged. Five minutes of break left. Rebecca and Charles began to walk away slowly. They both looked back at the same time, Heather 'friend Penelope Portlyn who had been there, had said nothing, so when they looked back Penelope glared like Magnum and stuck her tongue out. So, Rebecca and Charles did the same thing. "Thanks, for saying shut up to Rodger", Rebecca said, somewhat gratefully.
"Welcome. Heather, Rodger, and the other ones are just mean folks, so I did that", explained Charles.
Then an odd thing, happened. Katrina Ivywood and Peter Russet came running out of the corridor, followed by none other than Headmaster Samuel Brown, who had forgot some paperwork in his study and came back to the academy to get it. His next visit was suppose to be in a few months, so Katrina and Peter were just looking at the tuna fish, and then turned their heads and got a huge surprise. Classes were beginning in three minutes, so Charles graded his plain white backpack and rushed off to the History room to get prepared for. Rebecca pulled her black book bag over her shoulder and rushed over to Katrina, Peter, and then enraged Headmaster.

"Here at Radcliff's boarding academy, pupils must toe the line, is in my line"! Roared the Headmaster, several of the pupils who hadn't rushed into the corridor, stood back listening, Headmaster Brown had attracted lots of watchers.
"But, sir weren't do anything wrong, we were just looking at your amazing pet tuna," muttered Peter.
"Correct, you are there Russet. But in the Pupil Policy Handbook of Rule and Laws of Radcliff's, and the list of rules posted in every corridor, it clearly states that pupils need permission to enter my study. I don't expect this, I mean Peter Russet you've never gotten into trouble, and you haven't either Katrina Ivywood, though Ivywood your teachers do complain sometimes that you're a little bit of an odd pupil", said Headmaster Brown.
"Sorry sir", Katrina and Peter said at the same time.
"You're forgiven this time, you two. Don't do it again. Remember, the whole no consequences things are false! Whoever said such a foolish saying? Never do things with consequences", said Headmaster Brown.
Headmaster Brown glanced at Rebecca, "Hello Niece," he said.
"Um, hello Uncle Samuel", muttered Rebecca.
"At school, you will call me sir", ordered Headmaster Brown.
"Ugh, okay, sir", said Rebecca.
Headmaster Brown began to walk away, but Rebecca made him stop, "Excuse me, sir. But who is My Aunt Ciara doing"? Rebecca wanted to know more about her odd Aunt.
"My wife Ciara, oh she's doing brilliantly, she started a restaurant a few years ago, she named it 'Eat Here or Else' it's a shaded place, I need go now and help her cook and manage our costumers", said Headmaster Brown.
Katrina grabbed black backpack that had a colorful paint shot print, on it and Peter grabbed his purple backpack with a large green star on it. The three friends made their though the corridor to the History Room. Rebecca felt there was a big reason why her parents only sent her to boarding school, she felt it had something to do with Aunt Ciara, no she knew. Rebecca decide that she will officially met her aunt and find out more. Her mum and dad had always said that Aunt Ciara was mental, which just might be true, because when time she had chased Elliot and Holly around, while throwing pebbles and rock at them, her mum and dad had then forbidden Ciara

from seeing her, Elliot and Holly. Rebecca told her two friends about what Heather got almost got Charles to do, the fight with Heather and her cronies, and all her intersecting thoughts the
ones from when she was sitting on bench, and the ones she just had. They made it to the History what on time, as they entered Heather, Rodger, Stephanie, Tiffany, Magnum, and Penelope give a quick but nasty glare. Katrina sat in the desk next to Charles, Rebecca sat in the desk next to Katrina, Peter sat in the desk next to Rebecca, and next to Peter from left to right were their friends from left to right; Tess Jones, Paul Oak, and the twins Kendra and Brenda Sunflowerseed. The History room had many posters about people like; Amelia Airheart, Benedcit Arnold, General Cornwallis, etc. It also had 3 globs, and many maps on the wall, the whole room was made out of blackish-dark brown wood. It had wide window with green and blue silk curtains, the other side of the room had a wide window to, expert it had a velvet curtains, all curtains where pushed up, and the windows open with a screen. All the pupils in room began taking out their History notebook and pens. Rebecca pulled out a notebook with 'Harry Potter' picture on it and a black pen, Katrina had a odd notebook with cupcake pictures on it, and on a erasable orange pen, Peter pulled out a notebook with blue and white stripes, and a black pen, Charles pulled out a boring look gray notebook and red pen. Katrina glared at Tess Jones; Tess was friends with Katrina, but Katrina wasn't friend Tess, Tess had messy, long brown hair dyed purple and red, why Tess even had a notebook with pink and white zebra stripes and a pen that wrote in pink, people thought Tess was odder then Katrina, which was the worst insult ever in Katrina's opinion.
"Where's Ms. Nettle?" asked Tess to her friend Paul.
"Shut up, blueberry and strawberry haired freak", Heather smirked.
"You shut up, don't be mean to Tess, she's awesome", Kendra said, flipping her long, bright blonde hair.
"Yeah"! Kendra's twin sister Brenda and Tess's best friend Paul chanted.
"Oh, just be quiet", muttered Stephanie in a nasty tone.
"Only if all you annoying people were quiet forever, now that would be better Stephanie" agreed Rodger.
Ms. Nettle walked in, and began teaching at once. The hard, sophisticated, 1 hour lesson then began with no, no consequences, as in with consequences
